Rik Mehta is running for Congress in New Jersey's competitive 7th Congressional District, and was previously the Republican nominee for US Senate in 2020. He is a biotech entrepreneur, innovator, healthcare policy expert, as well as a licensed attorney and pharmacist. Mehta owns and runs a consulting firm, R&R Strategies, and works as a partner at Licentiam, a healthcare licensing technology firm. His professional experience also includes working as a Consumer Safety Officer at the U.S.Food and Drug Administration and teaching as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and Rutgers University's School of Health Professions. Mehta holds a bachelor's degree and J.D. from Rutgers University, a Pharm.D. degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and a joint LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center and the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
