Joshua P. Hochschild


"A Mind at Peace” in light of National Technology Day (May 11).


JoshuaP. Hochschild is Professor of Philosophy at Mount St. Mary’s University, where he was the founding dean for the College of Liberal Arts and currently directs the Philosophy, Politics and Economics program. He has published and lectured widely on philosophy, culture, liberal education and the Catholic intellectual tradition, and is a former President of the American Catholic Philosophical Association. His book, A Mind at Peace: Reclaiming an Ordered Soul in the Age of Distraction, co-authored with Christopher Blum, is a work of practical spirituality. It draws on his research in classical and medieval philosophy, on teaching college and seminary students, and on his experience raising four children with his wife Paige in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
